Origin Acoustics VALET amplifier is the simplest and most efficient way to immerse a customer in whole-house audio. It is the first amp that integrates the Amazon Echo Dot into the home environment. Utilizing Origins Tool-less Mounting System, the Dot can be easily mounted behind a 6-inch grille in the ceiling. Now new construction homes can have whole-house audio with architectural speakers in local rooms and homeowners can bark commands anywhere within speaking distance, having access to Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Pandora and others.

The brainchild of Origin’s founder, Jeremy Burkhardt and Joe Whitaker of Thoughtful Home, VALET has eight 75-watt channels and features an RJ45 port for each of four stereo zones. Through a proprietary balun, the Dot will be both powered and return audio over CAT5.

A patented muting circuit has the ability mute local content playing in the room during the conversation with Alexa. Once Alexa has responded, the audio content that was playing then resumes.

The VALET also features a 12v trigger per zone that will allow it to be tied to a control system so the programmer can program instances like “Pause DirecTV” while the Dot is in use and “Unpause” when it is complete.
